The Fashion Summer Camp course is tailored for students aged 14 to 18 who are looking for a pre-college course to understand the intricacies of the fashion industry. The program will delve into the main areas of fashion: design, styling, and business. Led by our higher education faculty, students have the opportunity to delve into fashion trends, acquire knowledge in textile selection and garment construction techniques, explore the pivotal role of marketing and branding in the fashion industry, and actively contribute to the development of their college fashion portfolio.

The Fashion Summer Camp at The Miami School of Fashion & Design offers a comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry, focusing on hands-on learning. The program emphasizes upcycling, fabric work, pattern-cutting, sewing, and patchwork to help students create their final pieces. Students also benefit from integrating digital design and traditional craftsmanship to enhance their design development and garment construction skills. An essential aspect of the program is visual storytelling in fashion, utilizing digital tools to craft compelling narratives through clothing. Sustainability is woven into our curriculum, ensuring students grasp sustainable fashion concepts and learn to incorporate them into their creative projects. The camp culminates in a final fashion garment presentation, providing students with a valuable addition to their college applications.
Students will achieve a wide range of learning outcomes throughout the program. They will first gain expertise in essential fashion techniques, including draping, designing, sewing, and embellishing, which are crucial to the immersion into fashion design. They will also develop a strong understanding of sustainability, learn to rejuvenate clothing through upcycling and understand the transformative potential of fabrics. Additionally, students will enhance their creativity through interactive sessions, such as draping fabric on mannequins and experimenting with different textiles to encourage innovation. Our Miami Campus, located in the vibrant Design District, offers a contemporary 7-story building with tailored facilities to support student needs and foster an atmosphere conducive to learning and innovation. Our resources include well-equipped lecture rooms, a professional photography studio, a hands-on design workshop, and computer labs with essential software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Clo3D for digital design. Additionally, we offer various tools to support students in their professional and academic development, including a comprehensive physical and online library with crucial research materials and references.

Applicants must be 14 years or older or in high school to apply for the pre-college programs at Istituto Marangoni Miami. Once eligibility is confirmed, applicants are required to complete an online registration form. Additionally, students must submit a copy of their ID and Resume to complete their student profile. Upon successful registration, applicants will receive detailed information on enrollment, schedules, and accommodations before the commencement of classes.
