To be human and living on the planet earth means there will be obstacles placed along your path. For some it may be occasional, for others it could be continuous. How and whether or not you manage to overcome these obstacles is entirely up to you. It will however, mold and shape you, make you stronger, wiser, and more resilient. It will also provide important insight to who you are and what is or may be possible.
Obstacles are encountered by everyone; they are challenges and may give reason to ponder your direction. If at every turn there is an obstacle it could be the universe telling you that you are going in the wrong direction. Occasional obstacles must be dealt with and overcome. This can be easier said than done. Motivation, perseverance, determination and belief in yourself and in your abilities are all key factors in succeeding to overcome obstacles that lay in your path.
Most obstacles can be overcome by giving thought to the problem. Try to come up with possible solutions. Friends, family, mentors, organizations or the internet can help provide insight and possible solutions to overcoming an obstacle. If these resources yield no or few results you should take a step back, it may come to you out of the blue. Once you think you have found a solution, apply it. If what you are after is important enough to you then by no means should you ever give up. It is said it is the journey, not the destination that is important.
There are many different types of obstacles; some are self-imposed, such as fear. If this is the case it is important to face it and analyze it. A certain amount of fear can be healthy, believe it or not. If it is money, perhaps there is a source you have not thought of, or approached. Networking with others can be very helpful in finding solutions to the obstacles that are hindering you. Intuition or your gut instinct is there for a reason, it is there to guide you, listen to it. Many rich and famous people have gotten where they are today by following their intuition.
There are as many ways to overcome an obstacle as there are obstacles themselves. It is not as important as to when or how as it is to actually overcome something. If it is something that is stopping from achieving a goal or a dream then it must be overcome. The reward in overcoming obstacles whether real or perceived is always far greater than giving up or succumbing. To look back at your life years from now and having the sense of pride one feels in their hard earned accomplishments is truly an amazing feeling.
Where would we be as a whole if we gave up right as we were on the edge of a break through? Failure is part of it, as long as it doesn’t stop you. Thomas Edison found 1000 ways how to NOT make a light bulb!
